My Experience at UGC Belgium
After using UGC services which entails movie watching, I became fascinated when i heard of their offer known as the UGC Unlimited. As a frequent movie goer, I saw this as a gateway to a less expensive movie life. Everyone has their experiences with UGC and these are the reasons why i became so dissatisfied and irritated by them.I went for the UGC unlimited.
My Reason
First of I will say that by using the normal ticket, you might not experience or know of these issues which I faced. There was a moment when I went to the cinema after 5pm with a group of friends to watch a movie who all were also subscribed members of this unlimited subscription. They all bought their tickets and when I attempted to buy my ticket, My card was not working. I went to the customer service desk to request why my card was nonfunctional and they said "I should call the helpdesk". Meanwhile, the helpdesk normally operates from 8-5pm. So why will the helpdesk of a company such as UGC close at 5pm when their services are running till 10:15pm ?
Because I wasn't prepared to purchase a ticket, I had to return home while my friends watched this movie.
Some months later, my card was blocked because at the moment of payment(which is the 5th of every month), I had not received my salary yet, UGC requested to reduce the money which was rejected by my bank because of insufficient funds.
UGC made no efforts of contacting me somehow to rectify this issue (by phone or email which was given in my contract) thus, I was again embarrassed when I went to the cinema proudly to use my card and it didn't work. Again since it was in the evening, I had to return home to call the next day. When I called the Customer Service(two language options, DUTCH AND FRENCH), the DUTCH line never worked and when I went for the French option, the help desk said they spoke no English and somehow hung up. I tried again and after a poor expression of my question in French, I came to understand why the card was blocked(because the bank denied the transaction).
A few days later, UGC deducted the money from my account (18.90) but again my card was blocked for almost the whole month !! Because I went there occasionally to try.
Finally my card was again active. A new month started. They penalized me by deducting an additional 20 euro from my account plus the new months subscription fees.
They called the penalization "reactivation fee" according to their article 7.1 of their STUPID policy or whatever; which is even only in DUTCH and FRENCH. So, to me who unfortunately received a late salary, I was penalized even though i paid the usual subscription which i find very unacceptable and bad.
This gave me a very vibe about UGC. If I could cancel the subscription I would.
To sum things up,
- Their policies are not recommended for all
- Their customer service is very very poor.
Try some other Cinema.
Although Belgium is a non english speaking county, I believe most of the subscribers of this service are internationals.
